History

Floyd began in the burglar and fire alarm business in 1968. Floyd opened its own central monitoring station in 1971. It was important to have control of not only our installations but our response to our customer’s situations. At that time when a break in occurred the locksmith was the first person called. Since Floyd Lock and Safe was the premier locksmithing service we would get the calls. However, we would pass the leads to one of the few alarm companies in business at the time.  It was time to change that for good.

In 1977 with the purchase of Security Alarms, Inc. Floyd became UL Listed. This is the standard of our industry. We have maintained that standard throughout the past thirty three years. In 1979 Floyd was the 29th company in the United States to fully computerize monitoring signal. This accomplishment was completed before most of the majors. Even to this day our monitoring technology is second to none.

As times changed so has Floyd. In 1999 we changed our name to Security Response Services, Inc. (SRSI)  The reasons were many. As the technology changed and customers requested more and different services we listened and then met their concerns. Our National Alarm Account Program was put into place, as well as other services not normally done by monitoring stations. We continually update our monitoring technology, operator training, and systems.
